Why should you thank them for their time? You are paying a hefty application fee for it.

Fixed that for you.

WOW this year it seems there is an influx of dumb 0Ls that continue to keep crappy advice to applicants.

The obvious answer is "no." Less obvious though, is that I am worried about what precedes it if "Thank you for your time" seems appropriate to close it off. If you want to PM it to me to get advice from someone else going through the process, I'd be happy to take a look at it. Def remove the last line though.

If you aren't comfortable sharing with internet unknowns, you could also just look through the TLS book for some good examples/commentary or the thread with examples. Lots of good, diverse statements in that thread to peruse to make sure you are on the right general track with the tone of your statement.

Good lord, no.

Also don't announce at the beginning that this is your personal statement or that you want to go to their law school.

I'd go with "Have a nice day!"

...omgno.

I ended a speech with that in 6th grade. It made me look idiotic THEN.
