Verdict on Professional Editing Services?

I graduated from my UG already and no longer have access to the pre-law advisor there to help me edit my personal statement. I'm really looking for a professional opinion as I am already within the range of the top 5 in terms of numbers and want to make sure my PS is absolutely perfect.

Has anyone used any / know of anyone who has? Is it worth the $?

TLS is superior.

I wrote my personal statement in 2 days and never edited it and my cycle went exactly as my numbers predicted. I wouldn't pay a dime for someone to edit my personal statement.

+1. Also, if you need a professional editing service for a personal statement maybe you should rethink the whole law school thing.
So he should rethink law school just because he wants to give, what he believes, his ps the best chance possible?
Maybe you should rethink the whole law school thing since you seem to believe that needing a editing service equals inferior writing. Smh.

To OP just start a thread with it and users from TLS will help ya out

With the exception of a few people on TLS, I wouldn't waste my time posting your PS on this site or giving it to others.

I DO recommend going to your local community college. I did this and they did not ask if I was a student. And if they do, you can just say you are applying to transfer or that you are enrolled in a writting course or something like that.

Writing a decent PS is way easier than people make it seem. Write it (this should only take a few hours), have a couple people proof it for spelling/grammar/awkwardness/complete aspie failure to understand what a PS is and what it should say, and then send it in. Don't pay $$ for something you can get for free.

You must not know the right people on here. Go to the NH2 thread in the lounge and ask. A lot of smart, cool people in there will do at least as good a job as an editing service.
