I wouldn't do it for Cornell given that they have a specific area on the application in which they ask about your particular interest in the school. They essentially just want your concise reasons.

All do, but it is important to match the essay with the corresponding school application.

I don't even really understand how this could happen. Isn't the whole point of a Why X essay to point out the unique features that would make it a good fit for you? How could your essay apply to more than one school?

Edit: just realized you might have been refering to just uploading the wrong document. In that case, I am being extremely careful.

It's more common on PS's. People just insert one school's name for another then send it off.
