You should include a diversity statement. It gives you extra space to highlight other parts that may not be evident in your personal statement or other parts of your application. If you feel you have something interesting to contribute to the diversity of the law school environment, you should utilize the diversity statement. You are competing against other applicants and you should strive to stand out by exploring all options that allow you to differentiate yourself from other applicants.

The caveat is not to write the diversity statement just for its sake. Spend as much time on it as you would a personal statement. In fact, write why X essays while you're at it.
