What is the problem with the current legal system that you see?

How do you propose we fix it?

I wouldn't do it.

FWIW, I submitted my app discussing my legal adventures. Rejected by every school I applied to.

That's pretty much your answer right there. Unless this is an issue you were actively involved in tackling as an intern, paralegal, etc., there's probably no reason to go there. Pick something else.

If you want more feedback than that (i.e. something other than a blanket generalization), feel free to PM me your statement or concept if you don't want to post it here.

The problem is, the people reading your essay are almost guaranteed to know more about law than you do, so anything you say about it is likely to sound callow and ignorant. What they don't know about (and want to find out) is you. That's why they ask for a personal statement, not an essay prompt asking you to express your observations and opinions of the legal system.

What is the likelihood that a 0L has come up with a unique insight into the current American legal system? Not good. OP, your observations are very likely to be either unoriginal (at best) or flat-out wrong. Either way, the adcoms would probably rather read an essay about something more personal to you.
