Academic Probation Addendum

Post by bartleby » Mon Nov 29, 2010 3:48 am

I don't have any excuses. I was just immature and didn't attend class. I didn't "party all day" either. I just didn't take college seriously until a close friend died.

Is this an okay "explanation" for being placed on academic probation?

In Spring 2006, I was placed on academic probation after receiving a 1.xxx term GPA. I was removed from academic probation the next semester.

I am also in the same situation as you; although I am not sure is it is the best approach, my explanation will be sweet and simple like yours. Unless there is indeed a legitimate excuse, I figure it's best not to get too hung up on it and let the remainder of my semesters do the talking

Should I mention my upward trend or let them figure it out?

keep it short and simple. The school will see the trend in your grades.
