if they say 2 pages double spaced, 12 in font, times new roman, then you need to write it exactly as is.

Yes, it is really really bad if you show schools on your application that you think you're too special to follow their instructions. They will have hundreds of applicants that put in the effort to do what is asked of them. Follow the guidelines no matter what.

I cut more. So much unnecessary fluff I just am not sure what you'd like to emphasize. Try to look at the kinds of things I cut and make your own calls on what else can go.
