sorry if this has been gone over, before.

I want to get my personal statement checked but dont know where exactly.

are there official places where you guys get it checked?
or do most people do it through friends acquaintances?

i know a common practice is asking for it toget checked thru internet boards but does it really happen as much as i think?

i ask this because im not sure if people are willing to share something on the internet that could potetnially alter their lives.

If you've established strong relationships with English or writing professors, use them.

Otherwise, visit your school's writing center. Having friends and family look over your statement doesn't hurt, but it's best to get an expert's opinion.

I've posted my statements on here and it's been super helpful. After I had composed a draft based on TLS'ers critiques, I then took it to a Eng. prof to review.

Agreed. This is a great testing ground for the substance of your PS. Just make sure you have a good copyeditor take a look at it...

I think I speak for everyone when I say based on your writing in the OP, you should just go ahead and send what you have. I'm sure it's great.

great..ive actually graduated a long time ago..and my schools four hours away from where i currently am so ill have to figure out if i can somehow work that out.
