I am planning on writing a diversity statement, but just wanted to make sure that my situation deserves one.

I was homeschooled from 5th-12th grade and did a self taught (and accredited) high school program. Basically my mom taught me from 5th-8th grade and I taught myself through the rest of high school. I do have a high school diploma (not a GED) scored well enough on the SATs 1360 (before the added sections) and I went to a great university in the north east and and graduated at the top of my course of study.

I know most of the "diversity statements" say "educational" and I feel as though this applies but I just wanted some other people's views

If well written and if it shows how you have a different perspective then I think it could work. Write it and put it up for critiques.
