Hi,
Some background:
A few years ago I went to D.C. with my dad and the group that he was there to lobby with. I was lucky enough to sit in on all of the lobbying sessions that he was in. One of the Congress people that we met with asked me if i was a lobbyist with the group, I said no I was just observing and she said to me: "Good, you should not become like these people." This quote has stuck with me and I plan to use it at the beginning of my overall essay.
So my question is: Do you think it would be a good or bad idea to use her name and risk offending a possible democrat on the adcomm or should I just be generic?

Thanks all!

I would just keep it to "one of the senators/reps" instead of using the name. and wait, you want to use a quote that was critical of your father to start off your essay?

Yes, and it was also critical of me in a way because I was/still am considering that as a possible profession.
