I'm not sure this is good material for a PS but could be great for a DS. You would need to be careful not to make it a "woe-is-me" story though.

It seems like an entirely legitimate thing to talk about. I might situate it within the wider context of devotion to your faith, if that helps to keep your PS upbeat in tone.

Sorry to hear about all of the BS you've had to put up with: it always makes my blood boil to hear about idiots who bash Sikhs thinking that they're Muslims. Not that it's acceptable to bash Muslims either, of course, but going after a Sikh because you hate Muslims is doubly imbecilic.

There must seriously be something up with Missouri (or maybe it is just the south in general). I have a Jewish friend from Missouri, and he was constantly mocked and beaten up since he wore a yarmulke. People around him honestly believed that he had devil's horns underneath it, as any Jew must, or so they thought in his Missouri town. Shame you had to go through something relatively similar, OP.
