Help with personal statement topic

I am deciding my personal statement topic and I wanted to get some consideration before I start.
First topic - I will write about a favorite book of mine that discusses a problematic relationship between technology and the world. I will use this as an entrance to my personal feelings on what the law is and why i want to pursue it. I will then introduce a paragraph devoted to each school on why I would like to go there and then finish with a conclusion that uses a quote from the author of the book.
Second topic - Write about a discussion I had one fateful fraternity chapter. I was advocating one event idea (community service) against the idea for a themed party. Eventually my idea, under my guidance, became one of the largest community service events for the entire school and the largest for our fraternity. Between the description of the arguments at chapter and the description of the event's success, I would introduce the skills law school would help me develop and how I am interested in utilizing them in my life.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations and potential improvements!
