Anyone used a professional editing service for their PS?

I'm wondering if it is worth the high price tag to get my essay professionally edited. EssayEdge seems to boast some pretty good credentials, but I'm not sure I can justify paying $100+ for something that may not benefit me all that much. Has anyone used EssayEdge or a similar company for help with their PS? If so, were you happy with the results?

I don't think it's necessary. Secondly, I think one of your PhD professors could probably do a much better job (and for free). Third, TLS can sometime be helpful.

Interested in doing me a huge favor and looking over my statement?

I would be much obliged...

Yeah, what the hell. I'll give you a very basic overview. PM it to me.

I used Revision Editing. It was pretty worthwhile. She had some excellent points and really helped sharpen stuff up.

Also, if you don't want to drop a lot of money, but want some good feedback -

--LinkRemoved--

$15 for a review. $30 for two rounds of edits, $60 for three rounds.

Thanks! I saw someone post this link earlier but I couldn't find it anywhere or remember what it was.

That one is actually quite worthwhile. They won't go over specific stuff or fix grammar or anything, but they will just offer general feedback, tell you what's good and what needs a little work, etc.

I'd highly recommend that for everyone. Definitely worth the $15.

I appreciate the advice. By the way, what is the significance of your av?

Haha, your avatar. The woman in your picture. Is there some significance or did you just think she was hot?

She's one of the top 5 hottest women in the world.

I don't really have a reason other than that.

Well, that and she has awesome bewbies.

Ah, not much thought went in to that one I see.

I've had a few, but staring at her makes me happy.

Is this indicative of a lack of beautiful women in your life?

It's indicative of the fact that she's hot and has nice bewbies.

Would you rather look at her or the creepy cover from American Gods or The Stig?

Well, considering I find the objectification of women offensive, either would be preferable. However, seeing as this type of av is so common, I suppose I can forgive you for being mainstream.

I'm not objectifying her. I'm encouraging her in her work.

There is so much I would like to respond with here it's too exhausting to imagine and I can't respond at all. However, I disagree with your statement and its implications. By the way, I hope I'm not being too antagonizing, but after all, I'm going to be a lawyer ;)

Of course, her work is nude modeling. So there is that.

..... I'm guessing you are not a passionate student of feminist law.

No one is holding a gun to her head. Except for that one fetish picture session.

If she wants to take her clothes off for money, who am I to deny her that opportunity? That would be pretty anti-feminist.

Of course, this is the most common argument regarding the female porn industry. If men didn't solicit pornography, that money would go to other businesses in our economy, and women who would normally be in porn would be employed otherwise. Customers of pornography create pornography.

I'm not a customer. I didn't pay for it.

I do enjoy that people who talk of equality for women get up in arms when those women choose to do something they disagree with.

Porn has been around for many millenia. It's not something new.

I'm not offended by the women, I'm offended by the men who encourage the sexist and derogatory behavior. Besides, you must know that the "it has always been this way" argument holds no weight.
