How long is a "Brief Statement?"

I'm applying to IU-B and they ask for:
Please write a brief statement that tells us about you. The best statement will highlight the special strengths and experiences that you would bring to
our law school and the legal profession. These may include leadership, responsibility, creativity, commitment to social justice, international and/or
cross-cultural experience and significant work experience, including care-giving. You may use this statement or a brief addendum to tell us how your
presence would make the class more diverse. Statements/addendums should be electronically attached.
My draft PS is 2 pages 11pt cg times font single space (1,571 words). Is this brief enough?

I'd say that is too long. 2 page double-spaced is fine, but 2 page, single-spaced (with 11 point font) is definitely not brief.

OH crap - wow I guess I'm way over. IU Indy says up to two pages, so I went off of that. I realize it probably has lots of fluff, but of cours to me, it all seems important. Would someone mind taking a look at it and letting me know which parts seem less important? Please PM me if your willing to help.

In this instance "brief" probably means a maximum of two pages that are well written & succinct. Essentially the application is seeking quality over quantity.

Great - I just saw an application (Valporaiso) that asks for 500 words. I'm screwed!
