Is it right for me?

Hi, I'm 15 years old and I've always planned to go to University of Michigan, for as long as i can remember. Over the years I decided I wanted to be a lawyer, and by 7th grade I decided upon Corporate Law. Now I'm on the last week of ninth grade, and by the end of my tenth grade year I will be back in Michigan, so i can get in-state fees. Currently I maintain a 4.0 GPA, with a cumulative 3.92 approx., with relative ease. Would be 4.0, but moving had me jumbled, and unorganized. Working on fixing that. Next year I'm taking Pre-AP English II, Pre-AP Algebra II, AP World History, AP Environmental Science, BCT II (Construction), Pre-AP Chemistry, & Peer-Counseling.

Anyway, lately I've been wondering if i'll enjoy life as a corporate lawyer. I base this on claimed long hours and stamina taxing office work. I'm not going to lie, I do procrastinate, and enjoy having a social life. I realize the procrastination is going to have to be at the very least controlled, but i hope to keep a happy social life. Basically I have two questions. One, if you are a corporate lawyer yourself, do you enjoy your job, is it worth going into? (I suppose that's two questions alone, sorry.) Two, do you think i will enjoy the life of a corporate lawyer?

Dad is a corporate lawyer and he loves it. However, you are too young to be able to gauge whether you enjoy it or not, it would be unfair to say whether or not you would based on 9th grade tendencies. Good luck.

You will most likely have a different view on things in 5-10 years. I wouldn't worry about this quite yet, you still have UG to get into and get through.

Please don't think about law for at least five years.

Hey, I'm 14 years old but a straight A student. What should I do when I want to work for Watchtell but Skadden gives me an offer first?

You're 15, so here's a dance scene in a McDonald's from the 1980s movie "Mac & Me"

I wanted to be a lawyer when I was his age. I think it's reasonable for someone to be mulling it over a bit.

Fair enough, though my serious response was really a response to the other serious responses. It's fine for a 15 year old to be thinking seriously about something as serious as his career.

You will likely have an entirely different perspective on life by the time you're in your last year of undergrad. I went into college thinking I wanted to be an engineer then ended up taking the political science route. Just worry about getting into a good school and keeping your undergrad grades up for now.

Not sure if i should be offended based on some of your responses or not. Guess i'll just work on getting into U of M. Thanks alot. Well, at least some of you were nice. You other people suck. And why would this make you feel sad? I was being serious. I don't wanna hate my life, or even worse, hate my life and fuck up some kids that happen to live with me.

The new age Demetri Martin. If you've ever seen his one special, he talks about being that asshole 12 year old who when asked what he wants to do when he grows up, he replies, "Well I'm not sure if I want to do Mergers & Acquisitions or Tax"

No, I don't think you're an asshole. That was just part of his comedy routine.

His "If I" series, it's somewhere in one of the six parts.
