Format of Personal Statement.

Obviously, I know the personal statement does not have to be an MLA-formatted paper or anything like that, but I was wondering if anyone has an idea on a general format for the personal statement. Currently, I am use single spacing, but inserting a line break between each paragraph, like such:
Paragraph 1 - Body
Paragraph 2 - Body
Paragraph 3 - Body
And so on. Furthermore, if anyone has any recommendations on how many paragraphs they think the personal statements should be, please let me know. Thanks for your time and help in advance!

This is going to sound unsubstantiated, because it is, but I really don't think it matters much. Just follow the spacing, font-size and length directions. After that it's about content.

Double-space, 1" margins, Times New Roman 12 or 11 pt font in black.
and make sure your name/LSAC# are on each page

Although it may be too good to be true,
(and certainly an accomplishment of lyric)
I have heard that they prefer haiku
over, even, a brilliant brand of limerick.
For sure, the latter offers you more space
to list each unique, amazing soft
five whole lines to show them to your place,
promise that your wordplay gets them off.
But the haiku is grace in written word,
and those who use it shine its finer poise,
the essay is not then read, but heard
and the applicant can rise above the noise.
The secret, though, that puts bees in their bonnets:
they cream themselves for personal statement sonnets.
