Does anyone think it would be irrelevant to discuss the impact that my parents' divorce had on me? I am 25 now and the divorce took place when i was 16-18. This is what I was planning to focus on as it is was the event (and a tragedy) that had the biggest impact on my life and my character as far as law and law school is concerned but I am afraid it all took place too far away in my past to shed any light on why I would make a great lawyer.

I'm afraid this question is preventing me from making any real progress on my statement (I dont want to waste time writing on a topic that wont have any credibility) Any guidance or re-assurance would be appreciated!!

in theory yes...but you have to make the connection. if it actually has something to do with why you want to become a lawyer, then yes put it down. or in an addendum if it affected performance like in first year college or something.
