Im citing a fact in my PS, should I put a footnote in?

I would generally advise against using footnotes in PS. It probably doesn't matter so much, but you might come off as slightly pedant if you do. It's not the worse of traits, but it's probably not the image you want to give. Also, won't they just believe you?
