this may have been adressed before, but when writing a Why X essay, can I reference things from my PS?

Is it fair to assume they read the application packet together and see one after the other?

Obviously the school recieves the whole packet, but if they were to break it apart and read it separately I dont want to leave things unexplained, and at the same time i dont want to repeat myself unnecessarily if i dont have to?

From what I understand, no, it's best that each statement be able to stand on its own. Your file could be viewed my multiple people, in pieces, or both. They read so many statements that you can't expect them to remember specific details from each applicant's file.

fair enough, I figure with the volume that they see, they wont be able to remember these things unless theyre literally looking at them together/right after each other. It just kind of takes away from having a unifying theme in the application, and makes me feel kind of stupid to be repeating the same things I said in the PS to some degree....
