RUTGERS LAW JUMPSTART HELP

Post by Lipper » Tue Apr 29, 2008 11:16 pm

I was admitted to Rutgers Law and offered Jumpstart. My father, a trial lawyer, is cautioning me as the only thing I told him was that I could enroll in either Torts or Civ Pro. He is adamant that if a NEW law student takes a course WITHOUT completing a Legal Writing/Methods course, the student is being set-up for failure or at the minimum, a low grade. Professors grade the exams on your ability to draw analogies, cite and relate briefed cases to the facts presented in a hypo. As I understand it, the JUMPSTART student, taking Torts, is provided no Legal Research or Legal Writing Instruction.

Does anyone know about this? PLease...I need to make a decision.
