I've been reading Harry Potter in Japanese. I'm up to the third one.

An auror is a dark wizard catcher...more like an elite group of people who are the brightest and the best in their class and graduated to become like a special task force patrolling the wizarding world and protecting it from evil. If anybody didn't think I was a nerd before, they do now.

i don't see a problem... harry potter rocks! i preordered all the books from amazon and they come in wizard-like packages, it's so magical

Yeah, my mom's Japanese and I lived in Japan for a couple years. Recently I've been reading Harry Potter and other young adult/old childrens books to keep up my proficiency in the language.

I just got sick and now everything I do takes a tremendous amount of effort so I just haven't done much.

I logged in and was delighted to see that my test email arrived at my gmail address. So delighted that I sent an email from my gmail back to my school email. Now I have one message. It says, and I'm paraphrasing, "jfkadsfk;a". Didn't really look though anything else on it though.

Actually, today was triple good. Not only did the general orientation info come, but the financial aid office answered an email I sent them last week, putting to rest a couple of concerns I had. And I got an answer to my health insurance questions. I guess the school didn't want anyone going into the 4th of July with lingering questions or doubts.

Nothing important really. I had made a small mistake in my Grad PLUS Loan, and they reassured me that it won't be a problem. The health thing was a question I had about the validity of my last physical examination (I had it in a foreign country) for the Cowell Health Center health history forms. Not really things that apply to many other people. Just nice to get answers though.

I did my entrance counseling and signed the MPN today. Now I just have to find a place to live & figure out the health insurance thing. What is everyone here planning on doing (that can't or won't be on their parents' insurance) about the health insurance? Just sticking with the school's?

Oh and I also have to buy that Lenovo but I'm waiting till I find a place so I'm not too much in debt...

Also, now that some time has passed since the first time this question was asked, where is everyone planning on living? on campus? by yourself? with roommates? homeless? don't know yet?

1) I'm planning on living off campus with a roommate.

2) I'm planning on using the school insurance at this point, as well. Though it is pricey! I'm supposed to take that out of my budget...yikes! And SCU doesn't take VISA. Poop. Anyone have any better ideas? Please?

If you go in person to the health insurance coordinator and fill out the papers and have her turn it in for you, it gets charged to your student account and therefore gets PAID for with your financial aid along with your tuition.

I suppose you could fill out the paperwork ahead of time and bring it down there to them in person. But I don't actually know anything. Better wait for sjkarlina.

I dont necessarily know if it has to be in person but the lady did tell me that if I filled out the forms through her, she would have it charged to our student account.
Her number is 408-554-2379 and she is the Insurance Coordinator.
