Glad I could convince someone of the merits of buying a mac. My vote is for apple. I just bought (and am typing on) the first Mac in what I hope will be a long line. Sad as it is, PCs just aren't cutting it, or are at least not as good as Macs have become; though, admittedly, renwoshin is right, thinkpads are good computers.

Plus, I don't mind partitioning my hard drive. Then I can relive my glory days as a PC lover.

About the rebate on the iPod... you pay up front. So, I spent around $1600, and within a week Apple had sent me a check for $299.99. You have to eat the cost of the tax, but that is $24, so i couldn't have cared less after spending the huge amount on the computer itself. Just know the address of the school. I had to look it up while there to get the rebate.

I just drove past SCU. Some new taqueria just opened. Maybe it isn't a big deal to most, but I just spent the last four years in San Diego.

OK I got the black macbook but I raised the memory to 4gb (PARANOIA! I know...)
I also got a wireless printer for $129 but there is a $100 rebate. I did get the ipod (the 8GB) so I can sell it to buy Windows XP and Office lol.

I seriously just shelled out 2400 so I'm anxiously awaiting my 400 in rebates!!!

I logged in through Santa Clara's website then it automatically applied the discount.

So its July 1st and NO packet came to my house! Who is going to be the first to call the school....and when?

Such a disappointing email. Has anyone who applied for a Grad Plus Loan heard anything back yet from the school yet(along the lines of "we've certified your loan request amount." "or you made a mistake please fix it to get your loan")? Because I haven't heard anything at all.
