How do finals work in 1L? Will we be done by the 18th of December or could it be earlier/later? Just trying to get perspective so I can give my BF some perspective when arranging his vacation schedule.

You should plan to be done on the 18th. Exams for 1L required classes are scheduled, so you'll have them spaced out over the 2 week exam period. It may acceptable for a prof to issue a take-home exam that offers more time or possibly some flexibility in scheduling, but none of mine elected to do so, so I'm not sure.
After those courses are done, your exams will be self scheduled, so you'll have some control over when you take tests and how spaced out they are.

Is this common? I was hoping to be able to use my laptop to take all of my class notes.Corsair wrote:a class where the prof has a policy against laptops

It's not all that common; Corsair and I are in a negotiations class - it's very practice based and there's constant back and forth discussions. A laptop wouldn't be helpful, and would be a distraction.MrRobot wrote:Is this common? I only had one lecture with a laptop ban, and that only lasted 3 weeks.

Hey all, been a while, but I saw a post on the facebook group about tonight and wanted to let people know that I'm in. I know we'll figure it out later, but my 2 cents is that we stay off division and go down state or rush. Hunt Club, Whiskey, that margarita place just off state on oak or something (KICKING margaritas). Anyway, see you guys at 9.

Hi all,
I would like to ask you some questions about my choice of courses for the LLM.
Do you know where I could find the precise list of colisted courses? On the website, I do not understand everything.
Besides, could you give me your opinion about my preliminary list of courses that I have chosen? I fear that the latter is too ambitious with three final exams in the second half.
Indeed, in addition to the two mandatory courses in the first semester (taking the assumption that there is no waiver), I intend to take Negotiations with Lynn Cohn and the colisted Business Law and Contract for the first semester. Moreover, for the second semester, I would like to take Securities course with Horwich, M & A and Structuring Transactions with Lutz and the colisted Corporations with Presser. Do you think this is manageable for me? These teachers have an extraordinary reputation and it is difficult for me to integrate your LLM without choosing these courses.
To be completely honest with you, I would be tempted by Corporations in the first semester with Sharon Hannes but I do not know anything about this teacher. Could you have some information about him?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Aw man, sounds like you guys were having fun while a few of us former techies were up to our necks in interviews. We'll have to get together at some point now that the Loyola Patent Program is over.
