By 2010, the downtown to Culver City light rail will be complete. Once that is done, living in Culver city or Downtown will be especially appealing -- there's a stop right across from the law school.

Is this our schedule for the Fall? Do they really just split us up alphabetically? If this is all true I'm thrilled to be A-D and not E-H, but I'm sure I'll regret it Spring Semester.

Was the 169 a February retake or was it early enough that they would have seen it before the WL?

Ah thanks for clearing that up. I'll really be hoping I don't get E-H. Any idea how many credits each class is? I'm guessing Torts, Contracts, Procedure and LLE carry more weight than writing and/or research?

lol, I was going say... that's unlikely. If that were the case, I wouldn't have class at all.

and ick for section E-H. Tuesdays & Thursday mornings would be rough.

I will be living in the North Univ. Park area. Surprisingly, the rent is high as shit. Pretty much a grand for a room in a 2 bedroom apartment.
Ill enjoy walking from north of campus all the way down to the law school and seeing all the beautiful undergrads in warm weather attire year round.
Glad you have your priorities straight, doherty. Haha. But seriously, i'm living at terrace too and I saw a tram station right outside there, do you know if that runs to the SE corner of the campus where law is? Otherwise I'll definitely go on this aforementioned beatific journey with you each day to class.

Yeah, you can find that info on the website. The writing are 2 units each, one each semester. The rest are 3 or 4 units each depending on the class. Look up Academics -> Curriculum -> First Year on the webpage.

Buy a bike.

It's a biking campus; everyone bikes.

Often times grad students feel too "mature" to ride a bike, but why not save 15-20 minutes of your day in such a fun, athletic way?
How can I hit on undergrads when I go riding by them on a bike?

Do you guys mind posting $$ from USC and numbers to go along with them? I'm trying to get some money from the financial aid office, and have only been able to use LSN to back up my claims (which I'm pretty sure are valid).

Don't take this the wrong way, but that makes me feel better... similar numbers.

I wonder if that is common for these type of numbers.

Hey guys! So I got a phone cal saying I got off the waitlist (literally about 5 minutes ago). So now I'm deciding whether its worth switching over to USC at this point in the game. I was all ready and set to go to Emory next year. The only positive thing is that I did not sign a lease there yet, so I'm not bound by anything.

However, I did get 15k from Emory per year and I'm pretty sure USC is gonna give me a giant goose egg. I'll have to do some quick deciding. They gave me until Friday.

I really want to go here though. I'm currently looking at housing posisbilities. Anybody know where I could still find something? I'm looking for a one bedroom or a studio. Nothing more than 1100-1200 if possible.

Thanks guys!

You can still find some stuff pretty close to campus.

Otherwise, there are certainly going to be vacancies in Downtown, or Culver City....which probably covers your bets options.

agree with the downtown suggestions. I found my place on craigslist. It's in one of the new buildings/complexes. I tried the drive when I was in LA for the ASD. It's about 7-8 minutes on city streets (ie, you don't have to get on the freeway). Other than that, I don't know what to suggest.

Glad to see some people living west of campus! I'm in Palms/Culver city right off of Venice and taking the 10 to campus is a breeze, you're against traffic each way. As for the schedule someone posted, I'm not sure how they break us down... the groups are A-L, which means it's not necessarily by last name (although regardless, I'm crossing my fingers I'm not in the E-H group...I'm not a morning gal).

Best of luck to you guys off to USC. I'm 95% sure I'm going to withdraw my admission and take the scholarship money at UC Hastings. Maybe we'll cross paths in the legal world. Guess there will be another wait lister making their way into this forum soon.

makattack, you really should figure it out. you write different things on different posts. . .

here you say you're 95% sure about hastings, but then on the hastings post you say that you are going there for sure ('i've decided hastings over usc').

it's getting a little annoying to hear about your decisions for so long. . .

Never said the 5% was holding out for USC

Should have phrased properly, I'm withdrawing from USC and 95% sure I'm going to Hastings.

Mak,

Congrats on your decision to attend Hastings. I think you've made the right choice for yourself. Best of luck to you in law school.

Money,

Congrats on your acceptance! See you in the fall!
