I read somewhere (a forum?) that it is not until after the second deposit.ioway86 wrote:I sent in my deposit using the little card they sent last Thursday and received an email confirmation from the law school on Tuesday evening. I was surprised by the turn around.
Do we receive email addresses or any of that jazz(registration information) this summer or at orientation?

How much time do you all think I need to go to Ithaca and look at housing? Would spending just one night be enough?

How much time does it typically take you to find an apt? That's probably how much time you need.Sunking1456 wrote:How much time do you all think I need to go to Ithaca and look at housing? Would spending just one night be enough?

you're right, they should have (note: it def. seems that he is more qualified than I am--so it really does not make sense)
how many TLSers do we have at Cornell this fall? We should totally write them a letter telling them that we all want edgar in our class--it will improve the moral of the 1Ls!

Put your jerseys on the desk of the dean, and tell him you want me to dress in your place.CampbellRh wrote:rmyoun06 wrote:Bitches shoulda let edgar in.

Re: Cornell Law School 2011
Oh god, guys, the other day asked Cornell to confirm whether they got the check I sent many weeks ago because this thread made me paranoid--and they said no, they'd never gotten it.
After many days of wrangling with my bank and freaking out, the Admissions folks got back to me and said they'd found it in a mysterious pile of "on hold" documents. SO RELIEVED.
They really are very friendly, polite, and helpful over there, but seems like a lot of documents are "on hold"...

How many of you have been to Cornell or spent significant time there? Any impression of what the student atmosphere is like?

i went there for undergrad, and the student atmosphere is great-- thats probably the best thing about cornell- there arent like, tons of places to go out and hang out, but it never really mattered to us because everyone finds a group that they hang out with, and you just hang out with those people at ppl's houses/ apt's.
we had a pretty large group of friends, so people were always eating together in large groups, going to the library in large groups, the classes were segmented into groups, etc. I will say that my particular school was very clickish, (knicknamed "highschool" because it was small and clickish, probably similar to the law school), but what was unique was that everyone fit into a group-- no group was better than the other, just different groups of friends. And those people are still my best friends now, even though we all live in different cities

Me too, but not for undergrad. I did my grad work there.abbygal0330 wrote:haha i was! what about yourself?
Oh, and in an attempt to be vaguely OT: I heart Cornell/Ithaca. A big factor in choosing my law school was that the town reminded me so much of Ithaca. Enjoy!

I got mine today...and I live only about 1.5 hours from Ithaca...so...it should be in the mail if you don't have it already.reverie wrote:just a quick question...
for those who sent in deposits early, did anyone receive the housing information packet yet? the website says we'd receive it after we send in the deposit, but i have yet to receive anything. starting to wonder if they meant that these would be sent after the deposit deadline... tried calling the office but no one's picking up.
thanks!

hmmm, anyone looking for roomies yet, or is that a big premature?
I found a badass three bedroom a stone's throw from the law school that I want to sign a lease for. PM me if you're looking too!
