Strongly leaning towards Cornell. My decision hasn't been made yet, but I wanted to show this thread some love since poor Cornell gets beaten up on some other threads.

Okay, I'm making it official. The deposit money is being mailed this week. CORNELL '11, baby!
Best of luck to all those still waiting to hear (I'm seriously crossing my fingers for you). Really hope a few more TLSers will choose to join us!

Finally, someone takes the initiative to do this!
I'm also about 98% sure, but just waiting for two other super-reaches.

I'll most likely be attending Cornell as well, but the refusal of grant money has me once again wondering about choosing my state school if they give me a full ride. If I decide to go, anyone interested in starting a law school commune house? hahaha

You didnt get any grant money need/merit? Do you mind telling me your numbers and EFC? Cornell is one of my top choices, but no money at all will pretty much rule it out for me.Ganbaru wrote:I'll most likely be attending Cornell as well, but the refusal of grant money has me once again wondering about choosing my state school if they give me a full ride. Ganbaru, when did you get all of your financial info in, and how soon did they get back to you? I am also leaning toward Cornell, but I would want to see what sort of financial package I get.

I got a reply within a week of completing my financial information. I must say, Cornell is extremely quick about their responses.

Did you turn in your tax returns and your parents as well? Sorry for all the questions. My EFC is higher than yours, so I'm not very hopeful after hearing you didnt get anything.Ganbaru wrote:I got a reply within a week of completing my financial information. No, I did not turn in my parent's or my tax returns. Just need access, fafsa, and their form. I was very disappointed I didn't get anything but at least I'll get the Stafford loans if I attend.

Yah, that really is a bummer. Its such an expensive school. Good to hear the turnaround was fast. I sent in my info one week ago.Ganbaru wrote:No, I did not turn in my parent's or my tax returns. I'm praying that my parents drop in salary this year will be taken into account. Otherwise, I'll be SoL for need-based $$$. Not really sure if I would choose Cornell with $0 over WUSTL full ride, seeing as I want to stay in the Midwest after school.
If you're reading this Cornell, please help me out

Are any of you URM? Are your stats higher than mine? Both could boost your chances at money.

My LSAT is higher, gpa is lower. And definitely not URM. Oh well, my husband got accepted there for Chem PhD so maybe they will just really want both of us.

Re: Cornell Law School 2011
For those of you who have sent in your seat deposits, did any of you choose the "Enclosed is a check for $250. I am waiting for final decisions from the following schools before a make a final choice....." option? I suppose it just strikes me as odd that I would list the other schools I am considering. I suppose I consider it some sort of unwritten rule that they know I am considering multiple schools and I know that I am considering multiple schools....but we just don't talk about it. If I select the option that indicates that I'm waiting for another school, do you think that will have any sort of impact on anything? Just curious.

Re: Cornell Law School 2011
i doubt it will impact anything...mayyyybe if they really want you they will try to coax you with a scholly, but i doubt it. it probably just gives them a vague idea of who is not completely committed to cornell following deposit 1, which may or maybe not give them a vague idea of how to continue w/ the cycle (ie. deferred applicants, WL, etc.)If I select the option that indicates that I'm waiting for another school, do you think that will any sort of impact on anything
maybe they're just curious.

Congratulations, reverie!
Is it weird that I really want to see a long list of fellow TLS people at Cornell on the Class of 2011 thread? We should have at least enough to form a study group.
