Okay, I need help! Mostly deciding between apartments. I'll just post my info template...

1. I'm Sarah, I'm graduating from University of Washington with a degree in public health. I am a dork and I love to play video games and read. like lots of people, I'll probably spend lots of time studying.
2. As many as my apartment needs :P I'd really like to live in a place for 3-4 people, but none of the places that I'm looking at are like that.
3. Arlington Townhomes (2102 Arlington Blvd), I guess it's Arlington Court? but it's a 2 br/1bath + den apartment at 2400 arlington, or maybe a 2 br + den at Ivy if I can get it.
4. Walking!
5. no smoking. I also don't drink, but I don't mind if my roomies do.

I'm really not sure where I want to live. I think it'd be cool to be near Barracks shopping. Also, I can't cook, and proximity of food sources = good. I won't have a car, either, unless my parents finance me. So that's another reason why Arlington sounds good to me. Buuut, I do want to have some sort of social life and not miss out on all of everything. I also am in Seattle and can't go to see the places I'm looking at myself. :( anyone in Charlottesville wanna help me out? :P

There will be a decent number of people near you if you live on Arlington. I think anyone who wants to have a social life will be able to have one. There's at least 6 of us I can think of who will be living on Arlington Blvd.

Shadow can you tell us a bit more about what you are looking for in an apt? Do you need a place that takes pets, etc. Do you need a WD or are you cool with a communal laundry room, etc.

Nip, if you live at the Woodlands, I'd be happy to let you tag along on my grocery runs. This goes for anyone else who might be living at the Woodlands with no car. I plan on going once a week (I cook most of my food). You just have to deal with my dog sitting peacefully in the backseat (he loves the car, and he's an absolute angel in the car).

So because everyone hear talks about Gossip Girl (and Sgt Bilko has even converted), I'm going to be watching it tonight for the first time. I'm actually a little excited.

But it better be good!!!!!!!

It's terrible, but that's why we love it.

That's so funny, he does the same thing... we have to spell out the word when talking amongst ourselves, or else he'll charge to the door and start whining. He's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi :)

Lishi -- GG never disappoints.
Canwait -- BLASPHEMY!!!

Also, Penn Badgley (Dan on GG) is the hottest thing that ever came from Bmore. Too bad he left :/

That's cause he didn't know you were gonna be there.

By hottest, do you mean most attractive or most successful? I'm not an expert on male hotness but he looks like an elf to me.

For the record, I googled him, I'm never seen the show. (and never intend to see it)

I'm not looking for much. I'd like a den/separate study place. I kind of want my own bathroom, too. I don't have pets and don't want to live with them. I've never lived without my own washer/dryer, but I don't see why I'd object to a communal laundry room.

I just started looking into the Graduate Centre and that sounds pretty okay too. It doesn't have a separate study nor does the living room/kitchen seem big enough to really want to hang out in much, but I'll definitely consider it. I'd like having 3 roommates a lot better than having 1.

Yes, Lost and House are the co-ed hit shows in the thread so far. Gossip Girl has been the ladies only (and maybe Bilko)

Graduate Center is the only place I can think of within walking distance that has four bedrooms. Huntington Townhouses, University Heights, and Barracks West all have 3 bedrooms with 2-2.5 bathrooms.

Love the Office! Though last week's ep wasn't so good, IMO. Hoping this one makes up for it.

I thought about UHeights, but it's a little far and sounds like it might have too many undergrads for my taste.

Ubuntu, OldBlue, Hokiefan, (Wahoo99 maybe), and I will all be living in Graduate Centre so you'll have plenty of TLS people in close proximity if you pick it. The living room/kitchen area isn't great but I don't think you'll get anything better unless you're willing to live somewhere like Woodlands and drive to school. Can't beat the convenience to the school and Barracks though.

Annnnd lastly, while (as you will soon know) I like corn dogs and fast food and chicken fried steak way more than could possibly be dignified/healthy... I can't live with a Whole Foods. There has to be one, or something of the like, in Charlottesville, right?
There's a Whole Foods and some nice gourmet stores.

At least you only have one thing left AND it's pass/fail. Just thinking about the tests and papers I have left gives me a headache.

There's at least 1 in Charlottesville. It's like 5 minutes north of the school on Route 29.
