In making sure I was accurately remembering the details of my Foxfield experience, I searched through past emails and came across several I had exchanged with friends just before trekking down that weekend. My emails described how nearly sure I was about applying early decision to UVA, and how one more visit could seal the deal. The visit did just that, and I sent my binding ED form a few weeks later.
Remembering those C-ville trips and chatting among so many of you awesome UVA 2011'ers has got me feeling both nostalgic and damn lucky. A lot of other hopefuls we've been rooting for, including many whose numbers far exceed mine, haven't been so fortunate. Reading the "went to decision" thread today has been heartbreaking.
I'm raising my glass in honor of comrades receiving waitlist notifications today and over the next few weeks, in hopes that they receive better news in the months ahead. Cheers, guys.
