Dan Ortiz, who is the one who called to offer me the Dillard Scholarship (full tuition & fees), told me that he had an extra ticket to the argument and offered to put my name on the reserved-seating list. Very generous of him - it was awesome.

They offered to let me feed the ducks on Saturdays... I'm heavily interested in UVA now.

Guy, you should've applied to the University of Oregon.

Nope. I'll visit at some point soon to get a quick tour and confirm my housing but I don't really need the song and dance of an ASD to convince me.

Me too (not that I'm waiting on those schools, though). Fall Foxfield with only the law students was great fun, but I've heard that spring Foxfield, with the undergrads and everyone else in the mix, is just out of control.

Didn't see a post about it there, but tickets are available here:

http://www.foxfieldraces.com/

For fall Foxfield at least, charter buses ran at regular intervals between the law school and the racetrack. I think you had to purchase a separate ticket before boarding the bus (I remember technically needing one, but I boarded just fine without one). The bus tickets did, I think, sell out, but the actual Foxfield tickets did not.

In making sure I was accurately remembering the details of my Foxfield experience, I searched through past emails and came across several I had exchanged with friends just before trekking down that weekend. My emails described how nearly sure I was about applying early decision to UVA, and how one more visit could seal the deal. The visit did just that, and I sent my binding ED form a few weeks later.

Remembering those C-ville trips and chatting among so many of you awesome UVA 2011'ers has got me feeling both nostalgic and damn lucky. A lot of other hopefuls we've been rooting for, including many whose numbers far exceed mine, haven't been so fortunate. Reading the "went to decision" thread today has been heartbreaking.

I'm raising my glass in honor of comrades receiving waitlist notifications today and over the next few weeks, in hopes that they receive better news in the months ahead. Cheers, guys.

wells, do you already attend UVA, or are you an incoming 1L? you seem to know quite a bit about the area and school.

Incoming 1L. Two of my best undergrad friends are law students there, and living in DC, I've been able to drive down for a weekend visit a few times a year since graduating.

on the suggestion of the ASW thread, another UVA FB group for tls: UVA/TLS/2011

Greygoose's group is still the primary - this is just so we can figure out who everyone is.

*waves at everyone*

Some of you may know me from LSD. I heard great things about this thread, so I thought I would stop by. Currently, I'm not leaning toward UVa, but it seems like UVa is trying to get me to lean closer.
