If it makes you feel better, singing a ripped off version of Auld Lang Syne on a Saturday in October is troublesome anywhere too.

from what i gather.. there is more hatred of uva from tech than uva toward tech.

its part of that "even though your sports teams are better, yall couldn't get into virginia" attitude.

It makes sense there wouldn't be as much hatred. If I were UVA, I would pretend not to care given that Virginia Tech dominates in football and swept them in basketball.

I'm very conflicted about my law school choice. I grew up in Blacksburg, attended every home football game for 14 straight years and have been a Tech fan my whole life. Now I'm most likely going to attend UVA; how can I live with myself?

For the record, most of my friends that went to VT and attended UVA for post-grad work never had a problem with it.

I was mostly kidding about being conflicted about going to UVA, just wanted to take a jab at UVA athletics. I was elated to be accepted to Virginia and was strongly considering applying Early Decision.

All of the Hokies and Wahoos I know harbor very little ill will toward each other's institutions. The feelings were more akin to a sibling rivalry than a blood feud.

Saw someone from Georgia joined the UVa Facebook group and got all excited but it wasn't Guy. Unless Guy has an oddly spelled feminine first name.

Cosign. The second sentence is, of course, crap- but people say it nonetheless.

Have any other EDers besides greygoose received a letter?

Have any West Coasters received a letter?

Darn it darn it darn it I'm really hoping the lack of a letter is the product of being 2,500 miles from Charlottesville

Bilko said he got a letter saying he wouldn't be getting a scholarship so it appears you'll be getting something in the mail either way.

I went to SCOTUS oral argument yesterday morning as a guest of the UVA SCOTUS advocacy clinic, whose case was being argued...here's info about the case & what went down: --LinkRemoved--

Some funny comments from the justices, for sure.

SCOTUS is even more fun to type and say than POTUS.

rabbit that sounds awesome. How did you find out about that opportunity?

Prof. Ortiz hosted the reception at the end of the ASD; he seems like a cool guy.

thanks gladiator thats a big relief (I hope bilko wasn't being facetious).

Dan Ortiz, who is the one who called to offer me the Dillard Scholarship (full tuition & fees), told me that he had an extra ticket to the argument and offered to put my name on the reserved-seating list. Very generous of him - it was awesome.

rabbit that's awesome. You should definitely attach a thank-you note to your seat acceptance card :P

bilko - sorry man. Don't play slots - that's for little old ladies. See if they have craps in the airport.

Hey all. I am a crossover from LSD. I've never really looked around over here, but it seems like there is a lot more UVa love! I will probably be attending in the fall. :)

All that prep talk gets me so excited!! I live in sundresses when it's not brutally cold!!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
