The thought of living alone for the first time in my life is finally sinking in, and the pictures of all y'alls dogs is tempting me to head straight to the nearest greyhound trainer and pick up one of my own.

got my lease today in an e-mail. Gonna fill all that out and get it in this week. But I'm gonna print it out tomorrow on campus, where paper is free!

For everyone who received a scholarship from UVA, is there a separate scholarship acceptance deadline that is earlier than the first deposit. I remember one of the schools I applied to had one but can't seem to remember which one (which definately sucks because I am on vacation right now and can't look it up). thanks for any help

Bilko -- I think I must be the only person who's never seen The Wire (at least in this area). Although I did see them filming an episode at my local grocery store at 3/4 AM (as I was staggering home after a late night). Their trailers were parked in front of my apartment building... it was an odd thing to see when my senses were impaired...

No, you're fine. There are plenty of OCD people like me who have secured awesome apartments minus a roommate. And we'll all be desperately looking for roommates if we don't find one/some in a month or two

Besides, think about the people on the waitlist! They end up with housing somehow...

I've never seen a bear (in VA or otherwise), but when I was driving from Florida --> Alabama this weekend, we saw a bear crossing sign. I was excited (but saw no bears, boooooo). More likely: bunnies and squirrels. I also see foxes quite a bit.

i saw a bear when i was younger driving through Tennessee

i'm hoping to replicate that experience if i end up at UVA

My current lease ends on 7/31 so I'll be down there right on the 1st.

I'll be down on July 15 for the initial move-in. My lease in Chicago overlaps through September, so I'll be back and forth until school starts.

around 8/1 for me...my lease here in Baltimore overlaps as well, but my landlord is trying to kick us out so that she can sell the condo
