Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
Has anyone visited the Ivy Gardens (I've actually never been to Charlottesville yet, hopefully some time soon...) Is it that bad? I'm drawn to it for the social/close to campus aspect, at least for the first year. Is it all grad students that live there?
Although it's hard not to want to live at the Woodlands or some of the other really pretty places...
(And ABSOLUTELY! to the girly drinks)

Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
ivy gardens is where i think about half the 1Ls live, and it's definitely the place to be for the social scene. i've heard it's nice - i considered living there too, but then picked the graduate centre because i was looking for the furnished living room/dining room. ivy gardens is decent though, and definitely close to the law school.Veronica wrote:Has anyone visited the Ivy Gardens (I've actually never been to Charlottesville yet, hopefully some time soon...) That keg race sounds awesome. No better way to bridge political differences.bamabreeze wrote:I KNOW! It is FINALLY warm here too.
Apparently we are playing cornhole and grilling out in a few minutes (I know, most redneck thing ever). Actually on the subject of cornhole, if anyone has actually heard of it, when I was visiting law schools, one of them had a Westlaw cornhole set, which is probably the most amazing/ridiculous thing I saw that week. Also at UVA there was the political party keg race (repubs vs dems) and that was a close second.

Of course the one time at work I'm actually away from the computer and there are suddenly 4 pages of posts. Got my NYU waitlist today, only UCLA stands between me and an officially complete cycle. Also got my GC lease today.

Holy estrogen batman! There's ovaries everywhere!
Seriously though . . . there had better be at least a few single girls at the law school . . . or some of us will be crashing sorority houses on the weekends.

Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
so i finally decided to drop my first TLS post early this afternoon, but after reading the last page, it seemed like i should get up to speed on exactly what you guys were talking about. i skipped back to page 45 or so and still felt a bit unmoored, so i went back a few more pages...so on and so forth...and finally ended up just starting from page one. what tragic irony that i'll finally have the free time i need to read all 55 pages of this thread only after i've gotten fired for wasting an entire day at the office reading all 55 pages of this thread.
anyway, since i wasn't around to respond to anything before, i'll just respond to everything now. here goes...
not sure where i want to live yet, but i'll most likely get screwed after procrastinating for too long; love gin, but it always gives me a horrendous headache; awkwardness is usually hugely attractive quality in girls; come on, ducks are great...probably the most likable bird around, unlike those stuck up swans; the shoot-till-you-miss on fire thing after three makes in a row is definitely the way to go; i hope the mouse is ok; i want to meet the person who invented ring pops; i'm definitely stealing one of, if not all, your dogs; the wire is awesome; yes, i'm going to the april 17th arlington meet-up; my brain can't handle two veronicas, so i'm just going to pretend that you are both the same person...sorry if that gets confusing at some point; holy mother of christ, there are no single girls going to uva; great meeting everyone who went to the arlington meet-up; and fuck, i still don't know what i'm doing housing-wise.
glad we could get caught up. i'm wes, by the way.

Welcome to TLS, Wes! We met at the ASW (I'm Alex -- although if you've read through the entire thread, you probably figured that out due to all the references to my leg!)
