No. Shadow's exact words were " law school actually being in the same place as undergrad classes." I'm not talking about going to the same law school where you went to ugrad (which I don't think shadow meant either). I'm talking about there being a central campus where classes for law school and classes for ugrad are held in nearby buildings.

As for budget, something I'm thinking about doing is paying my rent for the semester up front. That way I'll know exactly how much I have left (minus utilities which should be mostly consistent).

It's not like I'll be investing the 2k in some high yield stock returns otherwise....

That's a really good idea. It'll keep me from getting too crazy, which sometimes happens now.

I think I just must be more anal about money than most. I know how to shell it out, but I am also really stingy. I'm always very conscious of how much I can and cannot spend, so I really don't think it'll be a problem. But then again my housing has always been paid upfront, so I guess we'll see if that still holds!

best thing you can do is use a frequent flyer miles credit card to pay your rent, etc. Great way to rack up the miles.

Oh, and if you go to Michigan, you're automatically nominated for the Biggest Douche in the Universe award!

There is no way I'm opening another credit card. I don't want to give myself any bit of temptation to spend more than I have.

Ann Coulter went to Michigan and she's already locked up the Biggest Douche in the Universe award.

Which is impressive. I don't think women know how hard it is to be called a douche as a female.

As in, if you, a woman, assumed guys called females douches as much as we call guys douches, you would be mistaken.

Gotcha. I don't think women do assume that. At least I don't. I call men that, but never women. Just like how I might say a woman is bitchy, but I will rarely call a woman a bitch.

So, to clarify, Ann Coulter is a douche, which means take the biggest asshole guy you know and multiply him by about a trillion.

And having never left Washington, I know nothing about culture anywhere else around the nation. I do have to say that I really value politeness (hence no Northeast city-schools for me), and it seems that Virginia has lots of that. I don't know about the midwest, though; haven't spent much time there. :/

ps no offense if you're from detroit. I've just heard some bad things.

what, no northeast? we're goddamn polite you asshole!

hahaha jkjk - it's true. we're total assholes.

OK, I'm from Minnesota, went to undergrad in Atlanta (graduated in '07) and I am currently working at a law firm there. I JUST found out I was accepted at UVA and I could not be more excited. I like that there's going to be such a strong TLS showing. We should get t-shirts or something.

In addition, I am semi-intimidated by the fact that there are 107 pages in this thread. Looks like I've got some reading to do!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
