Hmm...smells like THE UNWASHED MASSES in here. How droll!

<insert blatant and unapologetic UChi trolling, comment about UChi is criminally underranked by the USNWR and should obviously be ranked #2, comment about how we here at the University of Chicago don't care about trivial things like "weather" and "fun" because we're too busy drinking sherry and eating Cheez-Its with Posner at his summer house in the Southside.>

I am so confused (that's nothing new)- but are you coming to Virginia instead of NYU or you just planning on chilling in Charlottesville later this summer?

"fist cuffs"?! :D
hahah, yea i grew up in an affluent suburb...i have no street creds...

GO CELTICS!
Let's call it upper middle class not affluent.

RABBLE?!?! Well I've never...! I do say, when I was at Hyyyyyde Pahhhhk, we never sullied ourselves with such gutter-speak....indeed, I distinctly remember conversing with Pahhhhhsner about this just the other day...

Edit:

Fact of the Day- Harvard students secretly refer to their school as the "University of Chicago of the Northeast." Sad, but true.

is Karelin the dude who lost to Gardner? USA! USA!
Yes but he went 13 years without losing in int'l comp and was only scored on two or three times in the same period.

Sometimes he would beat people so bad that James Brown quit singing "Living in America." His catchphrase: If he dies, he dies.

celebrating the celtics win at an irish bar sipping guinness (seemed appropriate) (bar was somehow full of bostonians, etc.) was a unique experience. i can say with great "flattery" that i was hit on for the first time by a guy...

it could quite possibly have been due to the cran vodkas i used to rinse down shots of jameson. *everyone discuss their experience*

but, congrats to the celtics, who exemplified team work and unified focus!

Congrats to "Peanut", to whom KG gave a shout-out in his largely incoherent victory speech. My fave line was him telling Tafoya "Michelle you look good tonight girl, you look good"- that and the hysterical "anything is possible"/ "top of the world", and of course the obligatory cries for his momma. I loved it. That was so country and hood all rolled up into one. Hilarity. Peanut. Peanut!

I laughed almost as hard as when J. Noah was asked "so what do you [now that UF has won it all- again]?" and he replied incredulously along the lines of "What do we DO? What do WE do? We win championships! That's what WE DO. Weren't you watching the game?" All that money invested in media training for the boy right out the window.

celtics! i've never followed basketball, so i feel silly jumping on the bandwagon, but it always makes my day when boston wins yet ANOTHER championship. ;)

we're a city of angry, angry people - but the day after a big win, suddenly everyone's talking to strangers, smiling ... it's like we're nice people or something! a crazy thought ...

and yes goose, way to do it up in an irish bar :) you should be here for st. patrick's day! now THAT'S insanity.

first thing that came to my head as well...even though he wasn't drinking?

it was nice seeing a team of decent people who deserved to win. although not a boston celtics fan, i picked them to win it back when allen and kg came...so it was nice seeing them win. i greatly respect players who sacrifice #s and all-star appearances for the pursuit of a championship.

And by "SC", surely you mean "Souf Cack[alack]". I love KG. He seems so genuine, and it was great to see him celebrate unabashedly and emotionally. (It was also nice to see a 22 year old Rondo take that ball from Kobe like candy from a baby...)

Does anyone know how they determine what section you are in? Is it random?

I wonder what the statistical probability is of randomly having an entire section be TLS folk?

You probably have a better chance of winning the Powerball lottery.

Shouldn't they create a bell shaped curve for each section based upon LSATs and GPAs. It would suck if you ended up in a stacked section with how tight the curve is.

i don't know how much of an actual determining factor it is. i know someone who got into gulc late off the WL and is now at the top of her class. so even if they did a bell curve, you still might end up with a stacked section based on performance in actual law school classes.

I know some students think sections are stacked via entering LSAT/gpa, whether or not it's true I don't know. J-Rod remember at ASW the Federalist Society guy telling us he was in the "scholarship" section while his roommate was kickin a$$ and taking names in the "waitlist" section? I don't know if that's legit at all, but I've heard other students express the same sentiment.

Of course...I simply figured that since so much weight is given to the numbers in admission, it would make sense to use them in creating groupings that are - at least ostensibly - fair.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
