I'm not sure what I'm doing about ASWs. I went to UVa undergrad so I don't really need to see the school again. It'd be nice to meet people but it's not like it's that convenient to travel to Charlottesville.

With the travel voucher, the scales should usually tip in favor of going. I'm guessing you didn't spend much time at the law school grounds, and one should be hard pressed to give up an opportunity to meet future classmates, profs, and staff.gladiator wrote:I'm not sure what I'm doing about ASWs. Yea, the travel $ is nice. I guess 1 thing I don't like is how pretentious and staged the ASWs are. I remember going to ones for UG and thinking that they were over the top. I'm having trouble deciding what to do for the other ASWs too. Those I feel even more ambivalent because there's no travel $, they're more expensive to get to, and it's unlikely I'm going to be attending those schools.

regardless, us ED kids should go to ASW to check out housing and meet professors, etc. after all, we'll be there next year.

As a student who participated in making these things staged and wonderful during UG, I definitely understand. However, I am hoping that I can get a feel for my potential future classmates (i.e. y'all) who will be slightly less inclined to put on the front that the upperclassmen representatives and faculty/staff will be putting on. :sigh: we shall see!gladiator wrote:Yea, the travel $ is nice. Does anyone know if there's a deadline for ASW registration?

dude, you're like 1-2 months late with the group.
University of Virginia School of Law - Class of 2011
it's probably more of a group for people going there, not just admits...

I went ahead and joined the group . . .
Also, I was updating my LSN account when I realized I'm tied for the third lowest LSAT score admitted to UVA so far! Awesome!

I've seen a few of those before - that one is damn funny.
"Do I look like your wife Bob? Then quit trying to FUCK ME."
"Mr. Takahashi say he can do 43 million dollars if you give him... one night with Dolores."
"WHAT?"
"Okay... two nights."

I'm like 80% attending, still holding out incase I get into Columbia or NYU and have a change of heart or there is a huge financial offer discrepancy.

Thanks, although I've been accepted for a while and just changed my mind to "attending" recently.aguyingeorgia wrote:grats
Also reserve the right to officially withdraw from this list if given unforeseen $$ from Duke, Cornell, or UT or accepted to Harvard.
(See, I already have this lawyer thing down pretty well, putting disclaimers in and all...)

Re: University of Virginia School of Law 2011
I'm accepted but undecided. Was a real suprise this early, I only applied January 14th, letter was postmarked February 8th, and I'm not an auto-admit (3.5 approximate GPA - foreign educated, and 174 LSAT on 2nd test, first 163). I wasn't expecting any word until mid-late March from anywhere, but got UVA, GULC and UCLA acceptances today, so UVA is my current 1st choice.

Re: University of Virginia School of Law 2011
Anyone else get a call from a current 1L? I got a call today from one that grew up in the Chicagoland area, where I go to school. She was really nice, and answered a bunch of my questions!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
