The USC game might be the exception, but every other game shouldn't be a problem.gladiator wrote:Why would it be cheaper?SteelersandGators wrote:^^ I'm sure you'll be able to get them for cheaper on gamedays.
If you wait close to kickoff, some people need to get rid of tickets and will sell for less than face value. You just need to play the game right. You could also just find one student who's not going and use their ID to get in. But I don't know if UVA actually checks to see if the ID matches the person entering....then that wouldn't work.

ride the B+ mean and join us at ivy. i've gotten 2 great pieces of advice from a notable uva alum: ride the mean and really enjoy the uva life. don't be a gunner, cuz that's not what partners want when they bring you to dinner w/ clients. they want interesting, well balanced people.

What does living at Graduate Centre have to do with being a gunner?
If you don't have a car, I would pick Graduate Centre. If you do, live in Ivy if you want to be in the center of the party storm.

Hey all,
I was admitted off the wait list mid-May and have been trying to catch up on this forum with all things relating to moving to c-ville. Does anyone have any experience with the charlottesville transit system, or has anyone heard anything about it? I'm thinking it might be a good way to reduce gas and other auto expenses.

That's like the main reason I picked Avemore, no joke. Also, Ivy seemed way too undergrad-like for me. Added to the fact that I'll be living with my SO. Where was I going with this?? Oh yeah, clean clothes rocks.SgtBilko wrote:Wanting a washer/dryer in my apartment makes me a gunner?

clean clothes
i personally don't mind sharing a washer/dryer and walking 1-2 minutes to its location... however, i do need a good dry cleaning place.
regardless, ivy is a short walk to the school and where a lot of people will be. makes hanging out easier, don't need a car for a few beers on sundays/mondays, etc.

I have no personal experience with the bus system here, but I can relay the rumors I've heard. Supposedly the bus system is good in the main part of town (near the university and the small downtown). However, it isn't very extensive outside of that, so if you live further away from school, it might not be a great option.gillespiea23 wrote:Hey all,

I'm a big fan of my washer and dryer. No W/D was a deal breaker for me.greygoose wrote:clean clothes

I think regardless of where people live it won't be hard to get together. Plus many of us aren't living at Ivy, so chances are good that where ever you live you can walk to a friend's place for drinks.
