How does your job salary before going to law school affect your need based scholarship in the Top 6? My parents are middle class but I make a 6 figures salary. I'm married and have a kid. However, I will have to quit my job to start law school and it will really affect my family as I am the main breadwinner. So do you think my salary before law school would prevent me from getting a good need based scholarship?

100% need-based scholarships are pretty much nonexistent outside of HYS. But yes, your income and savings--and possibly your parent's income level, depending on your age--will factor in to that calculation. Having a dependent spouse/children will also factor in.

But outside of HYS, your scholarship offers will be mostly merit-based, or some black-box combination of merit and need.
