Keeping UG Loans in deferment

I just received an email that the small amount (15-20k) of federal loans I have from UG are now in the "six month phase"

I will not be taking loans for law school because that is fully covered. do I need to do anything to make sure these go back into deferment or will the government see that I filed a FAFSA and will be enrolled in law school?

Any help would be appreciated

Edit: Spelling

Your loan servicer will have details about this. some schools automatically report this information and some servicers have a form you are required to fill out

I've deferred that way before (my research fellowship qualifies as a "graduate fellowship") but I assume we have to wait until August for a school to sign for the deferment?

Gotcha. Yea that was my assumption. I'd just make sure you have enough for an August payment just in case, but you could probably contact your FA department and see when they typically address those forms.

That was my plan - thanks!
