Top Law Schools

Hi everyone,
I'm contemplating deferring admission for 1 or 2 years due to an attractive employment opportunity that has arisen, which I believe will make me a better attorney in the long run. I know that I want to attend law school, but do not want to lose my scholarship amount at, which is significant.

Has anyone had experience with deferring their admission to law school and still maintaining their scholarship offer?

Yes. I have not gone to law school yet but last cycle I received a nonbinding deferral to a school that offered me a scholarship for more than full tuition.

After I asked for the deferral they e-mailed me back a couple days later with a revised scholarship offer that was slightly less than what they'd been offering before, but this year, when they sent me a new admissions packet, the offer was as good as the best one I got from them last year. It was kind of weird. (Last year, they kept improving my offer without being asked, like 3 or 4 times.)

I don't know if any schools do binding deferrals, but if you defer, I would just check with the school and get them to confirm that the deferral is binding or nonbinding so that you don't run into any issues if you are planning to apply anywhere else the following year.
