I need a full scholarship because I cant take out loans due to having defaulted on student loans in the past. Where can I expect to land a full scholarship?

I collect ssi which pays for my living expensesA. Nony Mouse wrote:I don't think this is going to work out for you, but even if it does, how are you going to pay for living expenses without taking out loans?
What about reapplying to one of the schools I previously attended. Would they be more likely to accept me again?Clemenceau wrote:What law school is really going to want to take a gamble on you after youve dropped out of 2 (or 3?) different law schools already? Let alone giving you a free ride?
The latter school said to another student I heard dropping out that they would welcome him back if he reapplied. I didn't have this conversation at the time because I was accepted at another School back thenMr. Archer wrote:Did either of those schools say anything about reapplying when you left?
I get social security paymentsDrSpaceman wrote:This is a good plan. Get that full scholly, and then just pay your rent with cash advances from credit cards.
The problem is his absences are just long enough for a new crop of posters to develop who aren't hip to it.buntort wrote:So people are still falling for the john1990 thing, huh?
If your talking about the LSAT then yes Im eligible for a retake. How much would a new score help my admissions chances? Im PTing in the 163 range right nowpancakes3 wrote:Johnboy's been trolling enough that he's eligible for the 4th take right?

If john were real, I'd tell him that it's probably time to write law school off and do something else with his life.
I'm loath to encourage you because it really sounds like you have serious issues with disclosure which does not bode well for your future as a lawyer, but I bet a 170 would draw the attention of a lot of schools whose 75th's are under 160. Diminishing margins blah blah blah but given how dumpster fires like American are teetering on the edge of viability, stip scholly's are a cash grab gamble they'll increasingly willing to roll the dice on. Just make sure the stip is worth the gamble.john1990 wrote:If your talking about the LSAT then yes Im eligible for a retake. How much would a new score help my admissions chances? Im not sure that I can pull a 170. Do you think that the 166 will be tempting at schools with 75th's under 156pancakes3 wrote:I'm loath to encourage you because it really sounds like you have serious issues with disclosure which does not bode well for your future as a lawyer, but I bet a 170 would draw the attention of a lot of schools whose 75th's are under 160. Seriously though... the law is not what it's cracked up to be. I have college friends who are working shit/midlaw who would rather manage a dave n busters than what they're doing. Even the T-14 grads that have "good" jobs (biglaw, inhouse, boutique) just see it as a means to a paycheck. Actually, the only attorneys I know that legit enjoy their jobs are either tools who have nothing else to validate themselves, or bigfed/USAO/fed-clerks. *disclaimer, there are bigfed, USAO, fed clerks that also are just "meh" about their jobs though.
