Wake Forest Law

Hi everybody,

Wake is really my top choice and I was wondering anyone has any information about their admissions in general?

Also, I'm specifically curious (probably like most people around here...) about the likelihood of being granted funding. I'm coming straight from academia and have elected to forego the option of applying to fully funded PhD programs. Needless to say, it feels like a gamble and any information would be much appreciated!

Do you have a specific reason why Wake is your top choice? over Duke, UVA, or UNC for example?

Thanks! That's really helpful.

I'm definitely applying to UNC, but I don't have the LSAT for Duke with a scholarship. Plus, I'm from a blue collar family and I would rather not incur the debt associated with funding a law degree from Duke.

I have my Master's from Wake and I really like the school/area. Cost of living in Winston is considerably less than Chapel Hill.

While I generally would never advise someone to attend Duke at sticker or close to it, your current (and familial) financial situation should not be too limiting a factor since you will likely close the net-worth difference of going to Duke over WF very quickly.

what are you trying to do with the law degree? i dont get why youd pass up UNC if cost is your concern.
