UC Schools - Merit Scholarships?

As someone unfamiliar with the UC system I was wondering if those schools are known to give out merit scholarships. I have seen the ABA 509 reports link in this forum which is something I did not know about before! Does the scholarship info in those reports lump together both merit scholarships and need based scholarships? Thanks in advance for any info
