Northwestern has become my frontrunner, however I would only feel comfortable doing so if I could get my scholarship increased. If anyone could give me insight if they would negotiate with the following information it would be greatly appreciated.

Uchicago: none (I heard they would give 5k based on the 15k from northwestern)
Michigan: 10k
Northwestern: 15k
Cornell: waiting (sent in the form a couple weeks ago)
Ucla: 25k
Vandy: 25k
Usc: 45k
Minnesota: full

Thanks.

Why would they consider ucla but not vandy (equal rank) and not USC (direct competitors)?

Also, has anyone had success negotiating without being restricted to the bounds of that form?

Answer - get UCLA to match the USC and then leverage UCLA to get Northwestern to match. If all that happens - enjoy ChiTown next year!

Wait, why not U of C? Given the difference, I think it'd be worth it. It's not as if it's a full ride vs sticker.

Edit: Nvm. I realized that you are probably considering the other schools and their financial packages as well.

Might be worth it if NU doesn't budge. There might be other factors involved though.
