Scholarship Offer After Deposit Deadline

Hey all,
Is there a protocol for situations where a school informs you they will be releasing scholarships just before or even after deposits are due at you other schools? I received an email from GTown saying they would likely be releasing offers the second week of April, and some of the schools I am heavily considering that have offered me scholarships already have deposits due the second week in April. Is it unprofessional to inform a school that you have a deadline rapidly approaching to see if they might work to get you an answer earlier?

I don't know whether you can try to pressure Georgetown to move sooner, but I know you can ask schools to extend their seat deposit deadlines - at least some will do this.

Even though I know some schools will say no, is this common practice enough that I won't come off as an entitled douche if I request some deadline extensions?

I think as long as you ask politely, you're fine. I think I just said something like "Is it possible to arrange for an extension on the seat deposit deadline? I'm still very interested in [school], but have some personal matters that need to be determined before I can make a final decision." In particular, if the school has already offered you money, they want you to attend.

I would think most schools wouldn't be too messed up about extending. There will be some amount of time between the deposit deadline and when they start taking waves of people off the waitlist. They would obviously rather have you than a waitlisted candidate.
