So we all know need-based aid is really only a reality at HYS. As a recent HLS admit who may defer, I'd like to get an idea on what I could expect to receive in a couple years.

If those who have recieved need-based aid would like to share, I think it would be helpful to many prospective students if you provided all the relevant factors, such as:

1. Savings
2. Student debt at enrollment
3. Parent's income and savings (when does this stop being considered?)
4. What school (HY or S?) and how much you received.
5. Anything else I'm forgetting.

I suggest just listing ranges if it makes you feel more comfortable.

Nobody's willing to share their numbers?

The HLS financial aid website is pretty specific in how they calculate financial aid. In fact pretty much everything can be calculated except for the expected parental contribution.

The Stanford Law Financial Aid Handbook (LinkRemoved) gives a less detailed but still informative look at how they calculate financial aid.

I have not looked at YLS at all because I did not apply there :)
