No more subsidized loans means there is absolutely no way to game the system. If your school offers a payment plan, use that. My school offers an installment plan for 9 payments throughout the year but they don't charge any fees or interest if you pay in cash.

ETA: This is a really weird post considering that you're the guy who just posted about repaying >200k in loans.
