I was thinking NYU gave out PI scholarships. Of course, OP would have to be accepted to NYU for that, and that would require an LSAT good enough to score merit scholarships at lower T20s. Just focus on the LSAT.IAFG wrote:I have never heard of schools giving money bc you want to do PI. They wisely wait for you to ACTUALLY do PI and then give you LRAP. If they gave it to you in the door, what would stop you from doing corporate law? And would the school even want to get in your way if you changed your mind? I have to imagine they take some pride in their NLJ250 placement.
You sound like me last summer preparing for last October. I was in the top 150's at about this time last summer and scored a terrible 158 on game day even though I of course thought I might be able to manage a 165. Unless you can speed though some new prep materials and then take 20+ fully timed PT's with 164+ as your average, I would consider the unfortunate possibility that it may be best to wait until next cycle. I did, and I think it may have been the best decision I've ever made. I'm now averaging close to 164-165 and it's growing each day. I think a 166+ on game day is a real possibility and I'm willing to call it quits with LS if I scored less than a 162 this October. Don't take the risk unless your scores are where they need to be. Even with your 3.75, a potential 162 is going to fuck you up with risky investments at full tuition costs at UW-Madison and the likes.TIKITEMBO wrote:Tikki tikki tembo-no sa rembo-chari bari ruchi-pip peri pembo!
A story my parents used to read to me. That stuff stays in your head when you learn it that young. *Sigh* If only I'd learned the LSAT then insteadShould be Tiki Tikki Tembo at least, but I decided to shorten it in accordance with the message of the story of course.
As for my LSAT work, right now my PT's are...improving. I can get into the 170's untimed (I know, no one cares), 160's really pushing myself but still over time in LG and RC (5-8 minutes) on time LR, and at time total I'm in the top 150's. I have decided to stop just doing PT's timed when I clearly need to just focus on making connections quicker and I can already feel an improvement. From drilling this last weekend I had a pretty big breakthrough on LG and started getting my games down to 8 minutes at but I'll still be working on that of course. Got Manhattan's RC this weekend as well and that has been helping so far as well. So, 6 weeks from now, I'm feeling like 165-170 is not totally out yet. That however, isn't anything stellar in scholarship land.
