GULC (105K) vs Cornell (45K)

Ok so I'm pretty sure most will vote for GULC in this instance even though it endures persistent bashing in TLS circles for being the worst T14. But I put a poll up anyways.
I also want to ask, since I'm going to send Cornell an email soon to negotiate with GULC's offer, how much of an increase can I realistically expect from the Cornell financial aid office?

Also forgot to mention I don't have a specific preference although biglaw from DC or NY will be great. Eventually though, I do want to do some international human rights work (another thing that gets constantly bashed on TLS).

Definitely Georgetown.
GULC will leave you with $100-120k or so worth of loans, something that is repayable if you miss the boat on biglaw and somehow end up at a small firm. Cornell will leave you with $160-180k worth of loans which really forces you into the biglaw or bust (or LRAP) zone where if you end up at a small firm, loan repayments will be rough.

Between Georgetown with $105,000 scholarship and Cornell's offer of $45,000, Georgetown is the better choice. International Human Rights--wait for Northwestern's offer.

Yes, but you have a 172.
P.S. I believe that NU offers an LLM in International Human Rights.

I'm thinking that one vote for Cornell Law deserves an explanation lol

I'm really shocked that your numbers came out that way- I got more from Cornell than you, and less from GULC than I got from Cornell!

Yeah I'm very shocked as well especially since I always was told that GULC is stingy with $$$. This is my dilemma though cuz I always wanted to go to Cornell over GULC but this might change especially if my negotiation doesn't increase my Cornell award significantly. Anyways it is what it is and I can't complain getting over 100K from a t14.
