So I just received a financial aid email notification from one of my schools granting me $1,300 in a need based grant based on my NeedAccess application. My FAFSA gave me an estimate of approximately $20,000 in a need based grant.

Did my parents' assets on my NeedAccess application change up that number? I was pretty shocked to see how low my actual grant was.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Oops, I forgot to add that this email is only a preliminary estimate.

I'm unsure as to whether they have taken my FAFSA into account yet-- "If you have filed a FAFSA, official notification will be sent to you via email later this month. "
