...actually going to be contributing anything toward paying for LS, does that in any way affect the financial aid rewards one may get after submitting their FAFSA?

I don't think so. Everyone applying to grad/professional school is considered an independent.

Need-based aid is designed to help people who's parents can't afford to contribute to their educations, not people who's parents are A-holes.
I saw this somewhere... might have been here. I thought it was funny. In all seriousness, you're SOL.

My school and lots of others use NeedAccess, which requires parental information for anyone under 30 seeking need-based aid, notwithstanding the FAFSA.
